Who this is for

Two kinds of companies we help.

Pre-seed, seed and Series A startups

You have raised, or are about to, and investors expect accrual-basis financials, a clear view of burn and runway, and a clean cap table. You need a finance function that is ready for the next round before you can justify a full-time hire.

Typically 1 to 30 people and under $3M ARR.

Owner-led businesses under $3M in revenue

You are funding growth from the business itself and want to know, every month, what the company earned, what it owes and what you can afford to do next. Taxes should be planned, not discovered in April.

Agencies, services, ecommerce and product companies with 1 to 30 people.

Raising a Series B, or past $3M in revenue? You will likely need a controller-led close, departmental reporting and NetSuite.

What changes at each stage

The finance work that shows up
before you have a finance team.

1

Pre-seed and seed

First checks · 1–10 people

  • Move from a spreadsheet to accrual books investors can read
  • Know your burn, runway and raise date
  • Delaware franchise tax, state registrations and the first R&D credit
  • 409A valuation before the first option grants

We work in QuickBooks Online, Gusto or Rippling, Brex or Ramp, and Carta.

2

Seed to Series A

Scaling the team · 10–30 people

  • A monthly board package: P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and KPIs
  • Revenue recognition for subscriptions and annual prepay
  • Multi-state payroll and sales tax as hires and customers spread out
  • The financial model and data room for the Series A

Same stack, with Stripe connected and budget vs. actual by department in the Exchange.

3

Series A and after

Operating at scale · 30+ people

  • Controller-led close with reviewed financials every month
  • Move from QuickBooks to NetSuite without changing teams
  • Audit readiness and ASC 606 revenue policies
  • Investor reporting on a schedule, not on request

This is where the Mid-sized + Growing solution takes over.

FAQ

Questions founders ask.

Which startups and small businesses is indinero built for?

Companies from pre-seed through Series A, and bootstrapped businesses under about $3M in annual revenue, typically with 1 to 30 people. If you are raising a Series B or past $3M in revenue, the Mid-sized + Growing solution is the better fit.

StageTypical sizeWhat indinero handles
Pre-seed and seed1–10 people, early revenueAccrual books, burn and runway, franchise tax, first R&D credit, 409A
Seed to Series A10–30 people, under $3M ARRMonthly board package, revenue recognition, multi-state tax, Series A model and data room
Series A and after30+ people, $3M+ revenueController-led close, NetSuite, audit readiness — see Mid-sized + Growing
Do you work with venture-backed startups?

Yes. Indinero has worked with venture-backed startups since 2009. The team prepares board-ready monthly financials, tracks burn and runway, handles 409A valuations and R&D tax credits, and supports founders through due diligence when they raise. If you raised on SAFEs or convertible notes, see how SAFE notes are classified under GAAP.

What is included each month?

Closed, accrual-basis books, a monthly financial package with P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, burn and runway in the Exchange, and a review with your advisor. Tax filings, R&D credit studies, 409A valuations and payroll are added when you need them. Not sure how to read the two numbers? See burn rate vs. runway, explained.

Which accounting systems do you use?

Most startups and small businesses run on QuickBooks Online, with payroll in Gusto or Rippling, spend in Brex or Ramp, and equity in Carta. Indinero works in your existing stack and connects it to the Exchange. When you outgrow QuickBooks, the same team manages the move to NetSuite.

Which tax deadlines and forms apply to a startup?

For a calendar-year Delaware C-corp: the Delaware franchise tax and annual report are due March 1; the federal return (Form 1120) is due April 15, with an extension to October 15; the R&D tax credit is claimed on Form 6765 with that return; and state registrations are needed wherever you have employees or meet sales tax thresholds. LLCs and partnerships file Form 1065 by March 15. Indinero tracks every deadline for you and plans tax before year end, not after. Full checklist in our Delaware C corp tax requirements guide.

Can you clean up books that are behind or on a cash basis?

Yes. Catch-up bookkeeping and the move from cash to accrual accounting are part of getting started. Indinero reconciles prior periods, sets up a chart of accounts that investors expect, and brings you to a consistent monthly close.

How is pricing set?

Pricing depends on transaction volume, your stage and the services you choose, on month-to-month terms. After a first conversation, indinero sends a proposal for your company.
